Danny Garrett
Designer

Danny’s 7th grade art teacher first recognized his unique gift for design after he created a drawing for a simple house. Though she suggested that he become an architect, his journey from that classroom in Port Jervis, New York into architecture was not a straight line. He first joined the military and completed multiple tours overseas. After serving in the Marines, Danny enrolled at the College of Design at North Carolina State University. His experience in the Marines gave him a unique and refreshing perspective. At NCSU, he received numerous distinctions and awards, including the 2021 AIA Henry Adams Medal and the 2020 AIA Triangle Scholarship Honor Award.

Danny is inspired by the public realm, creating inviting and exciting spaces that bring joy to the people while being applicable and functional to all. He is interested in how thoughtful, purposeful, and necessary design can impact and unite the community and the people within.

Danny joined the Marines in 2011 and was stationed at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC. He joined EVOKE in 2021, is EVOKE’s resident BBQ Pitmaster, and enjoys playing the guitar.
